Software-enabled capabilities are reshaping military capability development, operational effectiveness, and defence resilience. They are increasingly determining how quickly military systems can adapt, evolve, and remain operationally relevant.
Organised by DIGITALEUROPE in collaboration with the German Federal Ministry of Defence and Bitkom, and held alongside the NATO Digital Policy Committee plenary, this high-level roundtable will bring together senior leaders from across the European and Allied defence ecosystem, spanning military, institutional and industry representatives.
The discussion will focus on the adoption of the software-defined defence (SDD) approach across European and Allied armed forces, including through concrete procurement principles and enhanced cooperation among governments, NATO, the EU and the industry.
When: 23 November 2026, 13:00 - 17:00 CET, followed by a networking reception from 17:00 to 18:00
Format: Institutional keynotes, followed by an open discussion with participants and a networking reception
Given the practical and implementation-oriented nature of the roundtable, participation is intended for Chief Executive Officers, Chief Information Officers, Presidents or Senior Executives with responsibilities for defence, digitalisation, software, cloud, AI, cyber, procurement, capability development, or related areas.
